Albert Randle Jr.

Albert Randle Jr. was born to the late Albert and Clara (Williams) Randle Sr. on February 14, 1941 in E. St. Louis, IL and grew up in the close-knit community of Goosehill. He was preceded in death by one sister, Demetres Stewart, and is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Patricia A. Randle of O’Fallon, IL and one sister, Yvonne Campbell of E. St. Louis IL. Albert knew the value of a Christian life and decided to obey the gospel during his early 20’s. Over the years, he grew to not only lead his family but also spread the word and minister to family and friends. He was ordained as a Deacon at Centreville Church of Christ on April 17th, 2011. His ordination allowed him to continue mission work and providing guidance while serving in the capacity as Deacon Randle. This was something true to his heart as when he could not travel to visit the Sick and Shut In…he continued his ministry by calling. He attended Garfield and Carver Elementary School, Rock Junior HS and was in one of the first classes of Black students graduating from E. St. Louis Sr. High School in 1960. He later joined the U.S. Army and served from 1960 – 1962 on active duty and 4 additional years in the U.S. Reserves. After spending time in the military, Albert started working at American Zinc which later transitioned to Amex Zinc and is now Big River Zinc. He was a Union welder for 42 years, retiring in 2004. During one break at Amex, Albert attended and graduated from the National School of Meat Cutting in Toledo, OH and later became a meat cutter at Dierberg’s retiring in 2014. He also attended State Community College and was a member of the Who’s Who List. He enjoyed life to the fullest and participated in many civic organization from serving as Captain of the Alorton Volunteer Fire Department, a member of the Shriners and Masons and was a Sigma Gent with Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority. He loved bowling, fishing and music with ‘The Blues’ being his all-time favorite. Albert leaves to cherish 3 children, Albert Randle III of Fairview Heights, IL, Belinda (Damon) Broadus of Ballwin, MO and Denise (Marcus) Merritt of O’Fallon, IL. Eight grandchildren, Mortez Randle, Kierei Broadus, Alishia & Albert Randle IV, Shayla Merritt, Dominique Broadus, Jali Broadus, and Dana Merritt. Three great grandchildren, Kaleb, Alivia, and Kayah, and a host of special family and friends. We will miss his sense of humor, wisdom, Bible knowledge, corny jokes, flowers just because he loves us and his quiet spirit that spoke volumes without him raising his voice. He is a legend that will live forever in our hearts.
