On March 25, 2026, at 1:03 p.m., God blessed the world with the precious gift of Lyric Gianna Simms, born at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. Though her journey began with challenges, Lyric spent each of her 95 beautiful days at St. Louis Children’s Hospital, surrounded by the unwavering love of her family, countless prayers, and the compassionate care of her medical team until God gently called her home.
Although her time on earth was brief, Lyric’s impact was immeasurable. She quickly stole the hearts of everyone who met her with her feisty personality, her adorable little cry face, and the unforgettable side-eye she would give anyone brave enough to disturb her sleep. Even on her toughest days, she found peace in warm cuddles, worship music, bedtime stories, and nightly prayers. In just 95 days, she taught those around her the true meaning of unconditional love, unwavering faith, and remarkable strength.
On June 20, 2026, Lyric was joyfully christened and dedicated back to God. Just one week later, the Lord welcomed His precious child into His loving arms. While our hearts grieve her absence, we rejoice in knowing she is whole, at peace, and forever embraced by the One who created her.
Lyric was preceded in death by her great-grandparents, her paternal grandmother, her great-uncles, and her great-aunt.
She leaves to cherish her precious memory her loving mother, LaSha; her father, Jamel; her grandmother, Lucinda; her grandfather, Leroy; her uncles, Dantez, Brent, and Hertis; her aunts, Danielle, Sandra (Thomas), and Glenda (Walter); her great-aunts, Sandra, Annie, Darlene (Ricky), Sherese, and Beatrice; her great-uncles, Darrell (Bridgette), Clyde (Millie), James, and Eli; her godparents, Quenton and Rick’l, and Katrina and Levar; her godsiblings, Leslie, Lundyn, Jaliyah, Justice, and Amir; along with a host of cousins, bonus aunts and uncles, extended family, and dear friends who will forever treasure the blessing of knowing and loving her.
Though Lyric’s earthly journey lasted only 95 days, her life was overflowing with love. She leaves behind a legacy that cannot be measured by time but by the countless hearts she touched. Her beautiful spirit, infectious strength, and the joy she brought to her family will never be forgotten.
“I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.” — John 14:18
