Benny G. Childrous

Benny G. (Mane. Goatrod) Childrous was born November 6, 1956 in East St. Louis, IL. to the late Calvin Childrous and Cora Alma Bland. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters: Leida, Eartha and Loretta, and one brother, Allison Childrous. Mane was educated in East St. Louis School District 189. As a young boy, Mane attended Pilgram Rest Baptist Church. It was there that he accepted his Lord and Savior. He met the love of his life, Vanessa Harris in 1973 and married her in 1976. No children were born to this union. Benny enjoyed traveling and making his home in various cities (Springfield, IL., St. Paul, MN, , Madison, TN) and finally his home of Washington Park, IL. Bennie was employed at VF Image Wear in Whitehall, TN until his health declined. Mane thought he was a world fisherman and the best chef ever. Bennie answered his master’s call on Monday, October 10, 2016 at 7:45 a.m. He leaves to cherish his memory, his devoted wife Vanessa, four children: Tynell Shaw, Benny Childrous, Dominique Childrous, and Monique Childrous.
