Darnell Jefferson, Sr.

Darnell James Jefferson, Sr. (Flooky) was born on August 15, 1961 in East St. Louis, IL to his beloved parents Mr. Frank Jefferson and June Esther Jefferson.  Darnell was preceded in death by both parents, Grandmother Mabel Chevis, Brother Frank Jefferson, Sr., Daughter Latonda Rush and Son Darnell James Jefferson, Jr. Darnell received his education at Rock Jr. High School where he was known for his outstanding personality and uplifting spirit.  Darnell accepted God in his life at an early age where he attended Christian Welfare Community Church with other relatives and friends. Darnell worked as a Brick Constructor but was known better for being a family man.  He devoted his presence, time, and skills to those things and people that mattered.  He would take time to do things requested of him at once.  He loved being that accountable individual who loved to” talk the talk”, but he also “walk the walk”. Darnell loved being the life of the party.  He was that one man that brought life to the party.  He loved joking but he would also impart some words of wisdom into you. He had a spirit that could turn a frown upside down.  He was known for his strengths and the love he showed to others.  He was an outgoing person and would do whatever it took to keep the boat going, and for that he will be missed. God called his warrior home on Tuesday, January 19, 2021 in St. Louis, Missouri. Darnell James Jefferson, Sr. leaves to cherish his memories hiswife Deon Johnson; His children Kewan Johnson, Leon Johnson, Ricky Johnson, Darnica Johnson, Dominick Johnson, De’Andre Johnson, D’Wayne Brown, Lafonda Rush, Shoote;Siblings Kenneth (Donita) Helm, Michelle Jefferson, Gizelle Kirkwood, Tisa Jefferson, Santanya Jefferson, Nicole Jefferson, Cornelius Jefferson of New York; Sister-in-law Betty (David) Canada of E. St. Louis, IL; He leaves as he would say, “a boat load” of Grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
