Dennis Vartanian

Dennis Ray “Slim” Vartanian, age 66, of Fairview Heights, IL, born on
September 28, 1956 in East St. Louis, IL, died on September 8, 2023 at
his residence.

Slim worked many jobs, including delivery for Fed Ex, and as an umpire
at Our Lady of Assumption’s softball fields. He always gave his best. He
loved sports and was an avid Cardinals and Blues fan. But most of all,
Slim loved people. A kind and gentle soul, Slim greeted everyone he
encountered with his joyous smile. His family was everything to him.

He joins his mother, Wilma Vartanian, and father, Leo Vartanian in
heaven.

Slim is survived by his three brothers, and sister, all of whom he
adored. Terry (Patti) Vartanian of O’Fallon, Sam (Vickie Ogrzewalla)
Vartanian of Fairview Heights, IL, Kent (Sarah) Vartanian of O’Fallon, IL,
and Cheryl (Dan) Frein of New Athens, IL. Slim is also survived by his
nieces and nephews, three aunts, and many cousins.

A private burial service of Slim’s cremated remains will be held at Oak
Ridge Cemetery, New Athens, IL. Slim will be buried next to his beloved
mother. A celebration of Life for family and friends will be held at a
later date.
