Ivory James Bryant Sr.

Ivory James Bryant, Sr. was born on May 6, 1952. He was born to the union of Iris Bryant and Earl Lean Perry-Bryant. He was preceded in death by his brother Robert Bryant and Stepfather Fredrick Johnson, Sr. At a early age he confessed his hope in Christ. Ivory attended Ralph Bunch Elementary School in Benton, Arkansas. At a young age he moved to East St. Louis, Illinois where he attended and graduated from East St. Louis Senior High School. Shortly after graduating high school he enlisted into the United States Army. During his enlistment he served our country as a Medical Specialist. After his enlistment, in order to further his education, he enrolled in Venice Technical School and State Community College. He was a sports fanatic. He loved football, basketball, baseball, fishing…..you name it. He also coached youth football, basketball and baseball. Ivory was married to Teresa Asberry and from this union a blended family of nine children. Ivory leaves behind to treasure his memory his devoted and loving wife Teresa Chism; six sons Ivory (Lakia) Bryant, Jr., Venice, IL, Andre’ Chism, Alorton, IL, Armond Bryant,St. Louis, MO, Dondre’ Bryant, Sr. , Belleville, IL, Brandon, Sr. (Brittannee) Bryant, Cahokia, IL, Tyler Bryant, Cahokia, IL; three daughters Lamyia Chism, St. Louis, MO, Cawenda (Travis) Cleggett, E. St. Louis, IL, Gina Bryant, Cahokia, IL; twelve grandchildren, D’Onte, Carlois, Jr., Raymond III, Xavier, Camron, Bryant, Aundria, Brionna, Brandon, Jr., Mikaylah, Kennedy, Dondre’, Jr.; Great Grandchild Serenity; Mother Earl Lean Johnson; brothers Edward (Sharon) Bryant Sr., Alorton, IL, Fredrick Johnson, Jr., Bloomington, IL,Johnathan (Katrice) Asberry, Daniel, Sr.(Bernita) Asberry; Sisters, Janet Mack, Bloomington, IL, Djuanna (Willie, Sr.) Chambers, Centreville, IL, Sharon (Bobbie) Hall, St. Louis, MO, Pearl Johnson, Bloomington, IL.,and Mildred Johnson of Bloomington, IL.; and a host of family and friends.
