James Eric Singleton

James E. Singleton was born September 3, 1971 in E. St. Louis, IL. to Wilma Singleton and James Eric Belk. He was preceded in death by one brother; Lynsee Johnson, grandparents; Pervis and Beulah Singleton. He attended Cahokia Elementary School District and was a graduate of E. St. Louis Senior High School/Class of 1989. He was active in school and enjoyed golf, wrestling, Beta Club, and Junior Achievement. He was employed by Securitas as a Supervisor at Ameren Alarm Center for nine years. James was united in Holy Matrimony to Tomonia Laws on November 2nd, 2003. It has been said that it was the best day of his life. James was affectionately called “Jamie” and “James Eric” by all that knew him. He was well loved and will be missed by family and friends. He could be found cooking breakfast at any given time of day. His hobbies were fishing, video games, Reggae music, and most of all spending time with his family. James was truly dedicated to his girls and never allowed them to leave the house without brushing their hair. James leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Tomonia Singleton of Belleville, IL; four daughters, Christine Gayden of Champaign, IL, Jamecia Singleton of Belleville, IL, Joijanae Singleton of Belleville, IL and Jala Singleton of Belleville, IL; one grandson Darrell Allen, Jr. of Champaign, IL; mother, Wilma Isom of Belleville, IL., father, Jonathan Isom of Belleville, IL.; biological father, James Belk of Belleville, IL.; two sisters, Felecia (Jeronne) Holmon of Belleville, IL and Bridget Isom of Belleville, IL; three brothers, James Eric Belk of California, Davon Cann of Detroit, Michigan and Remington Belk of Belleville, IL.; and a host of aunt, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
