Mr. Johnny Ware is a Life Time member of Blacks In Government, Past President of the Southern Illinois Chapter of Blacks In Government (BIG), Past First Vice president of the Great Lakes Midwest Region V of Blacks In Government; a Life Time Member of the NAACP East St. Louis Branch 3013; a member of the Alton-St. Clair County Chapter of 100 Black Men of America, and a member of St. Paul Baptist Church in East St. Louis Illinois where he serves as the Vice chair of the Board of Trustee’s. Johnny is a supporter of his community and endeavors to reach out to be of assistance wherever he can in the community. Some endeavors include: Serving as a Deputy Voter Registrar for several years, participating in Voter Registration and get out the Vote campaigns. Johnny’s career has spanned over four-decades with the US Air Force before his retirement in 2009. Johnny is a Retired US Air Force Veteran of the Vietnam Era with more than 20 years of active service to our nation. Johnny has received various awards and has had extensive travels throughout the world. After a brief stint in the banking industry, Johnny returned to the AF Force where he continued to serve in various noteworthy positions including; an Environmental Management Analysis and a Management Engineering Analyst until his retirement in 2009. Johnny’ education includes an Associated Degree in Personnel Policy and Human Resources Management, a BA Degree in Biological Sciences and a MA Degree in Business Administration and Management. He was preceded in death by his wonderful, loving parents, Sidney (A.B.) Ware and Macy R. Ware, sisters, Minnie Lee Mickles, Ruby Lee Smith, Dr. Annie N. Ware-Fulton, and brothers, Willie Lee Ware, (infant) Hughie Ware, (infant) Ezra Lee Ware, James C. Ware, Sidney Ray Burgess, Lawrence C. Ware, Leroy Ware-Borkins, Tommy Lee Ware. Johnny is survived by his three wonderful children; Latrell D. Ware (Shelly Rae Winstead) of Louisville, Kentucky; Rosalind D. Coston of Dallas, Texas and Thomas J. Brown of Shreveport, Louisiana. Also surviving are ten awesome grandchildren: Gabrielle, LaTasha, Monnica, Lalah, Nilah, Meagan, Micheal, Monnie, Justin, and Jasmine and five great grandchildren Gaberon, Masiah, Magic, DJ, Ayden, and Nayomi; his brother; Thomas Sidney Ware, Jr. of Jackson, Mississippi, six sisters; Carrye K. Mills of Jackson, Mississippi, Arvilla M. Ware-Miller (Clifton Ray) of Arizona, Betty R. Ware-Hayes of Bronx, New York, Barbara J. Ware-Huggins of Memphis, Tennessee, Ledora Ware of Queens, New York, and Cora L. Ware-Warren of Vinegar Bend, Alabama; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
