Robert Connell Jr.

Robert Allen Connell, Jr., of Smithton, Illinois, passed away on Friday, July 14, 2023. He was born in East
St. Louis, Illinois on April 23, 1961.

He is preceded in death by his father, Rev. Robert Connell, Sr. and sister Deanna M. Stark.

Robert is survived by his wife, Joan Connell of Granite City, Illinois, his mother Gladys (Bequette) Connell
of Imperial, Missouri, children; son, Timothy (wife Ashleigh) Connell of Clarksville, Tennessee, daughter,
Amy (husband Dimitriy) Kuzmin of Arnold, Missouri, sister, Denise (husband Scott) Stegal, brothers
William Connell, James (Tracy) Connell, Jeffrey (Stacy) Connell, and five grandchildren along with many
nieces and nephews.

Robert had many occupations and hobbies during his lifetime which included hotel manager for Super 8
Motel, machinist at PTL Manufacturing and wedding and event disc-jockey as part of his DJ business, B &
M Entertainment. He loved entertaining and all forms of music. He loved to play the drums and play the
harmonica. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren as well as having a wide
collection of unique toys/collector items displayed in his home. He and his wife enjoyed the simple
things in life such as taking walks together at the local park, fishing and long drives with no destination.
