Roy Moore

Mr. Roy Moore was born February 21, 1952 in East St. Louis, IL. to Roy and Alena Moore. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers; Clifford, Billie Ray and Terry Moore. A special friend Lanetta Green. Roy was affectionately known as “Leroy” by all his friends and some family. Roy accepted Christ as his lord and personal savior at a very young age. Roy was educated in East St. Louis school District, where he graduated in 1973 from Lincoln Senior High. He worked at Nichols Bar-B-Que stand then he preceded his career at Cerro Copper & Brass where he was employed at for over 43 years. Roy was a fun, loving, devoted and kindhearted man. He gave and never expected anything back. To know him was to love him, because he was genuine and a giver. He loved working on cars and passed his trade on to the neighborhood children. He was the example of the message; GIVE a man a fish and you feed him for a day, but TEACH a man to fish and you will feed him for the rest of his life. What a person of love. He will never be forgotten and his legacy will live on in our hearts and minds. Roy always said, “See Ya Later,” Never goodbye. Roy leaves to cherish his memory his daughter; Kveta (Thomas) Winters; one son, Roy Moore Jr., two grandsons; Byron Hudson and Dominique. Special thanks to the May’s Family. Much great love.
